This was a saying that my Grandma used to say, and that of the late Benjamin Franklin. We use it with affection in our family, perhaps that’s why we still get on so well! It’s not in any way meant to be rude, just a fun way of saying you’re welcome to stay, but a cautionary note to say things may go a little sour if you overstay your welcome!
